+(i) a place for you is still available,
+(ii) the maximum number of participants from your Company/Institution is not exceeded, and
+(iii) some specific rules are satisfied. Everything is explained below.

+==== Application, moderation, confirmation and registration ====
+Application is done on a web platform (still undisclosed, work in progress).  You have to provide personal and professional data, and your preference about labs.  Your application is read by a moderator and approved.  It is only after approval that you can register and pay the registration charges.
+**All applicants must be clearly identified**, and have a valid email address which they check regularly.  **//Under no circumstances//** will we consider applications by an institution, intended for a participant to be identified later.  Please refrain from asking for exceptions.
+**Early payment is required** at the time of registration, let us explain why.  The EFTS is a non-profit initiative, largely based on volunteer work and public money, that has a capped number of places.  We want to spend the resources deployed, leaving no empty seats.
+Unlike travel agencies, we don't propose last-minute offers.  So, //no registration is valid without payment//.
+**Credit card** is the generally adopted payment method. Processing charges apply to specific requests, like quotation and bank transfer.

+In some circumstances, specific people may not be allowed to attend the EFTS.  This restriction is in force if one or more of the following items relate to a banned Country: (i) citizenship, (ii) residence, (iii) working site, (iv) Company/Lab headquarters, (v) email hosting, and (vi) origin of the payment.  Don't be afraid, the list (undisclosed) is tiny, and until now we have not had to enforce this rule.

+**Hobbyists** and **retired** people are welcome.  Student rate applies but, because these persons do not fall in our priorities, registration is subject to availability after the others are served.  The invoice shall not be used for financial books or tax reduction.

+Doctoral students, postdoctoral fellows, engineers and researchers from our Campus in Besançon are welcome.  Specific rules apply:

+  * Only lectures, coffee breaks and noon lunches are available, //no labs// and //no social events//.
+  * Participation is //free of charge//.

+  * You may be asked to help.  Taking care of participants and lecturers, simple logistics, moving instruments around, etc.  Rather than a burden, this is an opportunity to rub shoulders with colleagues.

Indeed, working with our team is a more valuable experience than just attending the lab sessions as a regular participant. +All data we collect [name, affiliations, business email, private email (optional), phone number (optional), etc.] are stored in the EFTS archive, only accessible to a tiny number of people at the heart of the organization.  Actually, the Chairman and 2-3 coworkers have access, all of them are permanent employees of a government university or lab.
+===Data shared with the European Frequency and Time Forum===
+We need to share your name, affiliation and email with the EFTF.  Let's explain why.
+The European Frequency and Time Forum https://www.eftf.org/home is a nonprofit annual conference on the same domain -- the difference between a conference and a training seminar should be obvious.  The Permanent Secretariat is at the SFMC, a nonprofit Company hosted by the Observatory of Besançon, just across the road.  We work in tight collaboration, and we share the database of addresses for newsletters, and the burden to maintain it.

+Getting in touch with new colleagues and friends is one of the seminar purposes.  For this reason, name, affiliation, email, and phone number (optional) are shared with all participants and instructors of the current year.  Nobody is allowed to further share your data without your permission, not even inside one's own university/lab or company.

+We encourage you to communicate your private email too, so that we can keep in touch even if you change affiliation. For the same reason, please consider giving your private email also to the new colleagues you met at the EFTS.
+=====Accessibility=====
+Lectures and labs are at SUPMICROTECH / ENSMM, a French Gov university.  Virtually all rooms are accessible as ruled by law, but some labs and visits may suffer from inevitable difficulties.  Just tell us about yourself, at the small scale of the EFTS we may take care of you personally.
